Sujith sparkles for Globstar

KOCHI: Off-spinner Sujith's six-wicket haul helped defending champion Globstar Telecom, Aluva, thrash Young Challengers (North Parur) by 116 runs and enter the final of the sixth N.S.Krishnan memorial EDCA under-17 cricket tournament at the St. Paul's College Ground, Kalamassery, on Saturday.

Tripunithura CC, riding on M.S. Akhil's all-round performance, also made the title round, defeating Pachalam CC by four wickets.

The scores:

Pachalam CC 188 in 44.4 overs (Thejus 51 n.o., Sreekumar 31, Basil Mathew four for 50, M.S.Akhil three for 20) lost to Tripunithura CC 192 for six in 38.2 overs (Vinu Kumar 52 n.o., M.S.Akhil 30, Ojo George three for 29) at Tripunithura Palace Oval.

Globstar Telecom 214 for nine in 45 overs (Darryl Davis 42, Aslam 45, Antony 37) bt Young Challengers, North Parur 98 in 31 overs (Sujith six for 36, Prasanth three for 29) at Kalamassery St Paul's College Ground. — Principal Correspondent
