BANGALORE: Resort politics seems to be back in the Janata Dal (Secular) with the party set to take its legislators to a resort, most probably in Maharashtra, for a short-duration stay along with Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy in the first week of January for an intense discussion on political issues. According to sources in the Janata Dal (Secular), the party has asked its legislators to be in Bangalore on January 5. However, the location of the resort has been kept a secret. Party national president H.D. Deve Gowda will not be taking part in the resort meetings. "The party will have discussions on various issues, including the strategy for the coming elections to the urban local bodies, its relationship with the Bharatiya Janata Party, the impact of the result of the Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency byelection on the party and the problems with respect to development works in the constituencies of party legislators," said sources. It is learnt that the party is also likely to hold consultations on filling up of its quota of two ministerial berths and the appointments to the boards and corporations. Indications are that the Chief Minister will have an open discussion with his party legislators on various political developments as well as the party's political future. He is also expected to hold one-on-one interactions with the party legislators.
