It is a non-performing Government: Dharam Singh

Special Correspondent

Demands White Paper on achievements made in last 11 months

BANGALORE: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly N. Dharam Singh has termed the coalition Government headed by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy as "non-performing" and demanded a White Paper on the development schemes it initiated since it came to power on February 3, 2006.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, he said that the achievement of the Government, which had come to power through "backdoor manoeuvres," was zero.

The Dharam Singh Government was toppled by a group of Janata Dal (Secular) legislators led by Mr. Kumaraswamy.

The Kumaraswamy Government's performance was a "black spot" in the history of the State, he alleged.

Mr. Singh said that the Government had made only promises so far.

He urged the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa to publish a White Paper outlining the achievements made in the last 11 months.

The Government had neglected people in drought-affected areas and failed to utilise the Rs. 250 crore special grant released by the Centre for relief works, he added.
