However, the Government has appointed the senior-most IPS officer K.R. Srinivasan as the new Director-General and Inspector-General of Police (DG&IGP). He will succeed B.S. Sial, who will retire on Sunday.
Mr. Mahishi will take over from Malathi Das, who is also retiring on Sunday. Dr. Das will hand over charge at a brief ceremony in the chambers of the Chief Secretary on Sunday. Mr. Srinivasan, who is presently DGP (CoD), is an IPS officer of the 1972 batch.
Additional Chief Secretary A.K. Agarwal has been posted chairman of the KUIDFC, Urban Development Department.
