BANGALORE: People's Union for Civil Liberties Karnataka (PUCL-K) has condemned the execution of the former Iraqi president, Saddam Hussein, terming it as a "murder" committed by the U.S. In a statement here on Saturday, PUCL-K said that Saddam was hanged by a court and a judge handpicked by the U.S. Government which could not tolerate a nation that was not dancing to its tunes. The court was not recognised by any nation in the world, and the hanging was an insult to humanity, it added. PUCL-K wanted the Government to pass a resolution condemning the hanging in both houses of Parliament. Karunada Sena said in a release that the execution was proof of the U.S. intolerance to regimes that had their own methods of governance, it said.
