Tuticorin : Communist Party of India (Marxist) cadres staged demonstrations in Tuticorin, Kovilpatti, Ettayapuram and Ottapidaram on Sunday, to condemn the execution of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein. The cadres burnt an effigy of the President of the United States, George Bush, at Ettayapuram. Earlier on Saturday evening, the CPI (M) cadres conducted a demonstration in the town urging the authorities concerned to take steps to convert Tuticorin into a hub port. About 60 persons took part in the agitation.
