dated January 02, 1957: DMK Election Committee

A meeting of the General Committee of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, held in Salem on December 30, Mr. E. Nedunchezhiyan, its General Secretary, presiding, resolved to hold at Coimbatore on February 10 a provincial election conference to enable the electorate to get acquainted with the DMK candidates. Full powers were delegated to the General Secretary to determine the policy of the party in the constituencies not contested by the party. The meeting adopted a resolution moved by Mr. C.N. Annathurai and formed an ad hoc Election Committee consisting of Messrs. Nedunchezhiyan, N.V. Natarajan, E.V.K. Sampath, M. Karunanidhi, K.A. Madhiazhagan and A.V.P. Asaithambi. The committee will announce before January 15 the names of the selected candidates.
