Workshop on puppetry from January 26

KOZHIKODE: Samanwaya Pavanataka Sangham, the Ayyancheri-based academy of puppetry and folk arts, will conduct a workshop on the art of making the dolls to be showcased in puppet shows and plays at Vadakara from January 26 to 28.

Admission to the workshop will be limited to the first 40 applicants. The workshop is being held at the B.Ed centre at Vadakara. The thrust will be on making string puppets using cloth and paper.

"Primarily training will be imparted in making string puppets since these dolls can be used in the shows conducted here, says sangham president T.P. Kunhiraman. Applications must be sent to the secretary, Samanwaya Pavanataka Sangham, Ayyancheri, Vadakara by January 20. For details, call 9446 693378 and 9446 953079.
