Eradicate corruption, says Venkatachala

Staff Correspondent

HASSAN: Former Lokayukta N. Venkatachala has said that as long as corruption is not eradicated, the common man's problem will remain unsolved. He was felicitated in Arsikere on Friday.

In his reply, he said, "Money has become all important and it is the base for corruption. Corruption has become universal. Powerful politicians protect the corrupt. Every thing is revolves around caste and it is a tragedy."

He also addressed the Suvarna Karnataka and Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations organised by the Santhe Pete Kannada Abhimani Sangha at the Veera Rani Kittur Chennamma Circle.

He regretted that political leaders had no concern for farmers. People in service misused power to earn money illegally. He advised youths to "aim at purifying politics and build a strong society."

MLC S.M. Anand presided over the function. Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha president Kodihalli Chandrasekhar spoke.
