Letters to the Editor
The report of the recovery of skeletal remains of children in Noida, sexually assaulted and killed over the past two years, is shocking. While the murders are the handiwork of psycho killers, the police are equally to blame for their callous attitude. The killings are not just unfortunate; they are a shame on the nation. The image of the police has been tainted forever. Waking up at this late hour and transferring officials or nailing the accused will be of little help to the aggrieved parents.
Afshan Adeeb,
* * * Had the police swung into action after the first complaint of kidnapping was made in 2005, the serial killings could have been prevented and the lives of a number of innocent children saved.
