Quarterfinalists spotted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The quarterfinalists were spotted in the boys and girls sections respectively in the 34th sub-junior National and inter-State carrom championship at the Muslim Association Hall here on Monday.

Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand qualified for the quarterfinals in the boys' section.

In the girls' section, Haryana, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Chattisgarh made the grade.

The results (league):

Boys: Tamil Nadu bt Karnataka 3-0; Bihar bt Puducherry 2-0; Hyderabad bt Kerala 3-0; Uttar Pradesh bt Maharashtra 3-0; Goa bt Tripura 3-0; Haryana bt Madhya Pradesh 3-0; Chandigarh bt Orissa 3-0; Kerala bt Madhya Pradesh 3-0; Tamil Nadu bt Chattisgarh 3-0; Andhra bt Bihar 2-1; Hyderabad bt Jharkhand 3-0; Uttar Pradesh bt Manipur 3-0.
