KANNUR: The North Malabar Railway Users' Forum (NMRUF) has urged the Railway authorities to announce the new Puducherry-Egmore-Mahe-Mangalore train being introduced on Wednesday as an independent train and not an extension or conversion of the Link Express. In a representation to Minister of State for Railways R. Velu, NMRUF general secretary Nata Rajan said the new train and the Link Express were reportedly scheduled to start at the same time from Mangalore. Urging the Minister to clarify whether the Link Express was being extended/converted into a new train to Puducherry, the representation said there would be mass protests if the Link Express was converted or extended.
