Mark sheets not issued

The students pursuing second year Bachelor's degree course in colleges affiliated to Bharathidasan University have not been issued with mark sheets of the examinations conducted in the academic year 2005-06, viz, for I and II semesters. Will the University look into the matter?

Post office location

The main post office at Adirampattinam is located opposite a college. There was a town post office at Chekkadi, a central place of the town, which was closed two years ago. Now public have to travel about 2 km to reach the present post office. Moreover, there is no enough place and furniture to sit and write the letters at the main post office. Therefore the authorities should take steps to improve the facilities at Adirampattinam Post Office and provide all necessary services including the sale of exam forms.

Unused land

In Kumbakonam town, one water tank at Ayekulam was reclaimed some years back. The reclaimed area was not used properly by the authorities concerned. Now the area is being used as a dumping place for waste materials and a parking area for lorries.

On Thanjavur main road, a lot of two/four wheelers are parked on the road, which affects free flow of traffic. Authorities should develop the reclamated land suitably and use it as a parking place for two/four wheelers by collecting a fee or the land can be used as a bus stand for mini buses.

Idle signal

The automatic signal at Kumbakonam Nall Road Junction is not working. As a result there is a traffic chaos every day at this point.

It is better if, the system is replaced with a latest model to avoid accidents.
