NEW EXPERIENCE: Tourists enjoying a shikara ride at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh on Monday.

Another milestone in the tourism industry of this City Beautiful was added on Monday with the launching of shikaras at the Sukhna Lake here by Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator S.F. Rodrigues and his wife Jean Rodrigues. The shikaras, made of deodar wood specially manufactured at Dal Lake, will enhance
A significant feature of the ceremony was the participation of slum children in large numbers in this New Year Day event. Mrs. Rodrigues distributed chocolates and candies to the underprivileged children.
A large number of people belonging to the Kashmiri community were present besides senior officials of the Chandigarh Administration.
