COIMBATORE: Roshni, a voluntary organisation that helps the poor and the needy, will lend a helping hand to Sharanalayam, a home taking care of orphaned, disabled and HIV positive children. As part of its project for 2007, Roshni will formally launch the programme on January 7 on the Sharanalayam premises at Kinathukadavu. Members of Roshni and the inmates of Sharanalayam will participate in the function. The organisation has also set up a fund for this programme. Those who wish to make contributions to the fund are free to do so, a release from Roshni said. Roshni has also planned to launch an awareness campaign against child labour and also on HIV related diseases. The organisation is also involved in various social service activities such as rehabilitation of leprosy-affected people, physically disabled children, orphaned elders and cancer survivors. Those who wish to make contributions can send a Demand Draft or cheque in favour of Roshni, 27/28, Kamakshi Nagar, Bharathiar University Post, Coimbatore 641-046. For details, call 2422114.
