BANGALORE: A 16-year-old girl hailing from Andhra Pradesh has alleged that she was forced into prostitution in Bangalore. The girl, who claimed that she was later taken to Mumbai, escaped and lodged a complaint with Agripada police. The police, during the course of the investigation, arrested three women from Bangalore for allegedly operating a prostitution racket.
Bail rejected
The three women had moved the lower court in Bangalore for bail but when it was rejected, they approached the Karnataka High Court for their release. The teenager, in her complaint to the Agripada police, said she had come to Bangalore from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh to meet her elder sister. While in Bangalore, she came across a woman who claimed to be her sister's friend. On August 1, the woman took her to a house in Bangalore where she was made to strip and was forced into prostitution.
