The district police can be ingenious, indeed. They have found a new way to counter law and order problems in some sensitive parts of the district. In response to recent clashes involving rival political workers in and around Thalassery over the issue of graffiti writing on public walls, the district police decided to be proactive. The police booked some walls in the area for itself. The police officials believe that party workers would not dare to write graffiti on the walls booked by them. Booking electric posts, walls and even roads for writing party names and campaigns has been the practice of rival party workers in the area. The practice also allows workers to display their area of control. Often, clashes occur when workers of a party write graffiti on the walls or posts in areas where the rival party has control.
