'Holograms provide protection from piracy'

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Holograms with various visible and invisible security elements provide the most effective protection from piracy of products or brands and forgery of documents, according to T.M. Rajan and Johnson Manjooran, executives of Ignetta, a private printing company that has acquired the technology for making holograms. They said a recent market review revealed that forgery was widespread.

It was practically impossible to counterfeit security holograms, according to them. The company claimed that it had incorporated security features for guarding the products.

The ISO certified company had operations in Ernakulam apart from Chennai and Coimbatore. The company claimed that it had the capability to produce packaging cartons with holograms.

The company was a member of the Asian Anti-Counterfeit Association, formed for protecting manufacturers from counterfeit entities.
