Ripples set to be an annual event

Special Correspondent

2007 edition begins tomorrow

VISAKHAPATNAM : Ripples, the biennial national symposium of chemical engineering students organised by the Department of Chemical Engineering of Andhra University College of Engineering, will be held on January 4 and 5.

The number of papers received for presentation at Ripples 2007 is nearly 500, compared to 250 received last time and this good response prompted the department to think of holding Ripples every year, said convener of Ripples 2007 V.S.R.K. Prasad at a press conference here on Tuesday.

A total of 125 papers have been selected for oral presentation and 25 for poster sessions. One of the technical sessions would be held in the memory of C. Large participation

Director of Naval Science and Technological Laboratory V. Bhujanga Rao would inaugurate Ripples 2007 while Chairman of HPCL M.B. Lal would be the chief guest of valedictory function on Jan. 5. Among those participating in the conference would be Chancellor of Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Mahaviswavidyalaya (Kanchipuram) G.J.V.J. Raju.
