BELGAUM: Minister for Water Resources K.S. Eshwarappa has asked officers concerned to prepare a detailed action plan to take up development and beautification of the Samadhi of Krantiveer Sangoli Rayanna at Sangoli of Bailhongal taluk and the spot where Britishers hanged him in Nandgadh village of Khanapur taluk. Presiding over a meeting with elected representatives, representatives of various social organisations and officials here on Tuesday afternoon, he said the Government had already identified works to be taken up at these places and keen to start them by next month. Along with Nandgadh and Sangoli, the Government would develop other sites of historical importance associated with the heroic life of Rayanna.
Committee
Mr. Eshwarappa also disclosed plans to constitute a committee of researchers to record hitherto unrecorded pages from the lives of historical personalities, including Veera Rani Kittur Chennamma and Sangoli Rayanna. Those present at the meeting included deputy commissioner Shalini Rajneesh.
