Rajahmundry: About 10,000 tribals from Adilabad to Srikakulam are expected to take part in the three-day State Girijan conference, which begins on Wednesday. Tribals from nine districts would participate in a huge rally with their traditional dress on the first day. The rally will pass on the main road, kandakam road, devi chowk, gokavaram bus stand and will reach Subrahmanyam grounds by 5 p.m and culminate into a public meeting. On the first day Tripura State Tribal Welfare Minister Jatin Chowdhary, MPs P. Madhu, Miriam Baburao and ministers from East Godavari district would participate. On the second day Minister J. Rammohanarao would discuss issues on Forest Rights Bill, Industrialisation-affect on tribals, Amendments in 6th Schedule. On the final day the conference will pass resolutions, which will benefit tribals. Mayor of Rajahmundry M.S. Chakravarti is the chief patron and Dadala Subbarao, district secretary CPM and others will be part of the reception committee.
