SKU to act tough against protesters

Staff Reporter

`Police complaint will be lodged if unions try to create unrest'

ANANTAPUR: The authorities of Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) will sternly deal with violence and indiscipline caused by student unions on the campus this year. It has also resolved to lodge complaints with the police, if students try to create unrest on the campus.

Talking to newspersons here on Monday, Registrar R. Ramakrishna Reddy stated that in a recent meeting, the university authorities felt that frequent protests by student organisations were hampering the normal functioning of the administration. The administration had resolved to take steps to ensure peace on the campus by treating any obstructions caused by students, staff, organisations and outsiders in the smooth functioning as an offence. The student and staff organisations and outsiders were asked to follow democratic methods in representing their grievances by taking them to the notice of the officials concerned.
