Heritage tour launched

Jalak comprises a cruise in the Chaliyar and transport up to Mavoor

KOZHIKODE: A tour of heritage sites in the city, part of the Malabar Shopping Festival, was launched here on Tuesday.

The rate is Rs. 50 a person. The tour covers the Art Gallery, Krishna Menon Museum, Beypore ship building yard, Jain Temple, Kuttichira Mosque, Tali Temple and Mother of God Church and so on.

The tour will be conducted up to January 15, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Other package tours are also being conducted. Jalak comprises a cruise in the Chaliyar and transport up to Mavoor. The tour will be conducted on January 8 and 10, with the charge being Rs. 100.

The wildlife expedition, for two days and one night, from January 10 will be to Silent Valley, Malampuzha, Pollachi, Indira Gandhi National Park, Anamala and Parambikulam at Rs. 900.

Night stay will be at Pollachi. Other packages planned include the Wayanad tour to Muthanga, Tholpatti, Pookode lake and Sulthan Bathery, besides a five-day trip from Kozhikode to Kannur, touching Arakkal Palace, a temple at Payyannur and Bekal Fort, with a staging of Perumkaliattam.
