Eight teams will be selected for the National Games

VIJAYAWADA : Over 150 archers, who represented the country in various age groups, will be seen in action at the 27th Cherukuri Volga memorial senior national archery championship to be held at Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences here from January 25 to 29, according to organising secretary Ch. Satyanarayana.

Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, Mr. Satynanarayana said the teams that would take part in the forthcoming National Games at Guwahati (Assam) from February 9 would be selected during the tournament. "Eight teams will be selected for the Games. The Indian team for the forthcoming international tournaments will also be selected by the selection committee," he said. Mr. Satyanarayana said that events would be held in Indian round, Fita, compound and recurve segments, for both men and women. . "We are thankful to the Acharya Nagarjuna University for offering equipments like bows and arrows to our players. ," Mr. Satyanarayana said.
