BHADRAVATI: Five persons were injured in an incident that occurred at Kagekodamallige village near here on Monday. According to sources members belonging to a particular community attacked volunteers of the Sangh Pariwar when they went to the village to publicise the Virat Hindu Saamajotsava to be held at Holehonnur on January 7. RSS leader Jayanna who was injured in the incident said the volunteers of the Sangh Parivar who had taken a rally to the village to give publicity to the Virat Hindu Samajotsava were attacked by a mob injuring many. He said that a car and several two-wheelers were damaged in the incident. Tirthappa who was hospitalised said that Hindu volunteers were chased by the mob when they were returning from the village and attacked with weapons. He said that Hindu volunteers gathered in front of the Old Town Police Station demanding stringent action in the matter. The Superintendent of Police Arun Chakravarthy Jeji who visited the spot on Tuesday said the situation in the village was peaceful. He said that a case had been registered against the persons involved in the incident.
