BHADRAVATI: Executive Director of the Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant (VISL) H.K. Roy Choudhury said here on Monday that the plant was heading towards earning a net profit in the current fiscal. Replying to the farewell offered to him by the VISL Officers' Association on the occasion of his retiring from service he said that it was noteworthy that VISL was producing remarkably even though the plant needed to be modernised. He also said that the days of SAIL taking up modernising VISL was not too far away. He said that the downstream facilities would be loaded soon and the plant will have new technology. The VISL officers' Association President Srinivasa Raghavan who presided felicitated Roy Choudhury.

General secretary B.M. Ravishankar welcomed the gathering. Vice-president K.S.R. Chavan proposed a vote of thanks.
