PATHANAMTHITTA: The Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP) acting president, M.B. Sreekumar, has said that the Yogam would not permit the Government to take over any of the temples and maths under it in Malabar under the guise of the Malabar Devaswom Bill. Talking to reporters at Sabarimala on Tuesday, Mr. Sreekumar said the proposed Malabar Devaswom Bill would empower the Government to bring temples and maths in Malabar under its control. He claimed that a good number of temples and maths in Malabar belonged to the Thiyya and Ezhava communities there and hence there was no question of permitting take over by the Government in the prevailing circumstances.
