`Srinivas Prasad playing opportunistic politics'

Correspondent

CHAMARAJANAGAR: The former Santhemaralli MLA, A.R. Krishna Murthy, has criticised the former Union Minister V. Srinivas Prasad for playing "opportunistic politics" since his political entry.

Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, Mr. Krishna Murthy said he was criticised by Mr. Srinivas Prasad without any valid reason. He said he had never spoken against Mr. Prasad at a function held at Nanjangud recently. He said he had made a statement at the function for misusing the name and photo of Mr. Prasad by various political parties. He said the statement was not meant to dishonour the senior politician.

Mr. Krishna Murthy alleged that Mr. Prasad had misused the convention "Buddanadege....Maralimanege" held at Mysore recently to join the Congress. Mr. Srinivas Prasad changed parties many times to get power. Mr. Prasad who criticised Congress earlier, had now joined that party, he said.

People would decide the fate of Mr. Prasad in future polls, he said.
