CHANDIGARH: Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday advocated a broadbased Hindu agenda to "save the nation." Addressing a press conference here, Dr. Swamy said : "The nation to survive as a united democracy now needs a Hindu agenda.'' He said Hindus today were targets all over, whether it was terrorism, religious conversion or "falsification" of Indian history in books. Flanked by former Bharatiya Janata Party MP Satya Pal Jain, Dr. Swamy said that the Hindu agenda was more on cultural lines and not directed against any particular religion. To a question, Dr. Swamy said that Christians and Muslims in India too had Hindu ancestors and they could be part of the agenda given their ancient cultural heritage. He said that religious conversions should be banned and a link language should be promoted.
