NOIDA: The district administration is considering setting up a memorial at the site where the skeletal remains of many children were recovered from near a house here this past week. "We are considering a proposal by some local residents to build a memorial. It would be similar to the one set up for the Meerut fire victims at Victoria Park," said Commissioner (Meerut Division) Dev Dutt Sharma on Tuesday. Mr. Sharma said it would help keep the memories of the victims alive in the hearts of their near and dear ones. "A proposal will soon be drafted and sent to the higher authorities for final consideration." "We have received several suggestions like demolishing the house and building a temple over it. Though that is not possible, we are thinking of planting some saplings or erecting a structure in memory of the victims," he said. Mr. Sharma also met the family members of the victims and expressed his sympathies.
