Jewels stolen from house

TAMBARAM
: Jewels weighing about 10 sovereigns and some cash were stolen from a house at Thillai Ganga Nagar on Monday.
Sources said Srinivasan, working in a private company, and his wife had gone to his mother's house in nearby Nanganallur.
They left the house at 10 a.m. and returned in the evening, when they noticed the grille gate and wooden door broken and the jewels missing from the almirah in the house.
Bomb scare in school
A private matriculation school on Grand Southern Trunk Road in Chromepet received a bomb threat on Tuesday when it re-opened after vacation. Sources said a male caller, around 25 years old, had made the threat over telephone.
After a complete search by personnel belonging to the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, the police found the call a hoax.
