BANGALORE: There was need to focus on children's issues in areas of conflict, be it Iraq, Iran or Afghanistan, Governor T.N. Chaturvedi has said. He was speaking at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday after releasing "Thoughts on peace" (Shanti Chintana) authored by V. Balu. In the regions affected by conflicts, efforts should be made to sharpen the sensitivities of common citizens on issues that concern the children, he said. Stating that movements were needed to create a peaceful atmosphere, the Governor said that the critical mass of people would determine peace, Mr. Chaturvedi said. "It is more an individual effort that contributes to peace in the world and it is individuals who have made the biggest impact on these issues. Individual acts will have an impact on the society," Mr. Chaturvedi said. Referring to Dr. Balu's book, the Governor said that it was the result of author's odyssey of seeking peace through art. Reservations, misgivings and questions on peace were addressed by the author, he added. Referring to a study, Dr. Balu said that as many as 13,000 thoughts pass through the mind every day and most of them are negative. Control of mind with positive thoughts would 8help in bringing peace., he said
