HYDERABAD: The Government has issued orders creating revenue functionary at the village-level to handle the work relating to land and revenue matters. The GO 1950, issued on December 30, said the revenue functionaries would be under the exclusive administrative control of the Mandal Revenue Officers. They would also take further action keeping in view the recommendations of the Group of Ministers (GoM). The GoM had on September 22 last year recommended creation of a separate functionary at village-level for revenue function. According to the G.O., the method of recruitment of revenue functionaries, their job chart, service rules and other modalities would be issued separately. The Andhra Pradesh Revenue Services Association, while hailing the G.O., said the Government had conceded one of its main demands for which the organisation has been agitating.
