MAHABUBNAGAR: An eco-friendly two-wheeler was launched by the HBL Power Systems Ltd here on Wednesday. The company situated 3 km away from Bhootpoor mandal headquarters village on National Highway-7, has manufactured the two-wheeler that runs on rechargeable battery. According A.P. Jitender Reddy, a partners of the company and former MP, there will be no emission of smoke or use of petrol to run the bike. Once the battery is charged with electricity,the vehicle can run up to 40 to 50 km.
Zero pollution
For charging of the battery every time, one unit power is required which costs Rs. 4. The zero pollution vehicle that was named as "Eko cosmic electric two wheeler" by the HBL company was designed to carry a maximum payload of 130 kg. Though basic business of the HBL Power Systems is manufacturing of batteries, it has taken cue from a China-based company and began manufacturing the two-wheeler. Mr. Jitender Reddy claimed that the batteries of their company were being supplied to the Railways, BSNL and Defence services besides all SEBs. The two-wheeler costs about Rs. 34,500 and the battery can be used for two years.
