THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Asianet Dataline (ADL), a division of Asianet Satellite Communications Limited, will increase data transfer speed in its broadband connections to 2 mbps from the existing 256 Kbps, a release issued in Thiruvananthapuram said. The monthly subscription rates will, however, remain the same. The change in speed in likely to be introduced from this month. Services up to 2 mbps will be provided at a monthly subscription of Rs.199 upwards. Under the New Year Offer, ADL will provide cable modem for Rs.1,599 and the installation charge of Rs.750 will be waived for a limited period. Modems can also be purchased by paying Rs.310 in six instalments or by paying Rs.600 in three instalments. In addition to this, ADL will also provide a free 2 MB web space for new customers for one year. Customers choosing the MACH 4 offer can get the cable modem free. The average monthly subscription for this is Rs.299 or Rs.399. Using the ADL's Kerala Talk card, subscribers can make ISD calls to the U.S. at Rs.1.99 per minute. ADL also offers an IP phone facility, the press note said.
