VELLORE: The Vellore Institute of Technology University is conducting a certificate programme on "Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Research and Innovation Methodologies" from January 4 to March 30. According to H.R. Vishwakarma, School of Computing Sciences, VIT, the role of research and innovation in the development of new products and processes, and its contribution to productivity enhancement had triggered a renewed interest in technological research and innovation throughout the world. In the wake of information technology revolution and the advent of Internet, there was a growing optimism that quantum leaps in productivity were possible by effective management of technology. Under these circumstances, the programme beginning on Thursday would focus on methodologies, tools, techniques and best practices. The programme was meant for research scientists and engineers from R&D laboratories and industry, as well as for faculty members engaged in research work and full-time M. Tech./M.
