According to Lokayukta Superintendent of Police M.B. Bisanalli, the accused had demanded Rs. 1 lakh from Annasaheb B. Mirji. The police officer was harassing the complainant following an anonymous call that Mirji was exploiting young girls under the guise of keeping them as sales girls in his Super Bazaar in Vikrampur village of Athani taluk. The accused reportedly told the inspector that he could give the amount in instalments. However, Mirji approached the Lokayukta and lodged a complaint against them B.L.
