Chennai Book Fair has new venue

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI : The 30th edition of the Chennai Book Fair (January 9-21) will be held at St. George's Higher Secondary School (opposite Pachaiyyapa's College) on Poonamallee High Road.

Organisers said the shift from the traditional venue (Quaid-e-Milleth College grounds) was prompted by the need for a bigger space following a rising demand from more publishers.

474 stalls

This edition of the popular fair will feature 474 stalls, almost double the number of the previous year's pavilions.

The display space at the new venue will be 1.10 lakh sq ft — a significant increase over the 60,000 sq ft that was available at the former venue. There is also more parking space to go with a food court and a film screening hall.
