TJP padayatra to expose `progress'

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Jana Parishad (TJP) led by Keshav Rao Jadhav will organise a padayatra in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda, Warangal and Medak districts, from January 25 to March 9, to spread awareness on "real" development in the region.

Mr. Jadhav and other leaders in a statement here on Wednesday charged that "Andhra capitalists" had taken full advantage of the concessions offered by the Government in the five districts.

This had led to denial of jobs to local people.

The leaders contended that the loss to Telangana as a result of the misuse of land, water and electricity and denial of jobs to local people would be about Rs.10,000 crores.

They claimed that development had taken place mostly in the real estate sector with non-local capitalists investing Rs.10,000 crores, most of the amount borrowed from banks in Telangana and made about Rs.1 lakh crores.
