Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended on Friday in Thiruvanmiyur area, including OM Road, Jayendra Colony, MGR Nagar, Srinivasa Nagar, Venkateswara Colony, Ilango Nagar and Part of Nehru Nagar between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for maintenance work.

New courses for hearing impaired

B.Com and Bachelor of Computer Applications courses will be introduced in Tamil medium for the benefit of hearing impaired at the evening college of Madras Presidency College. On Tuesday, Chief Minister, M. Karunanidhi has announced that 15 hearing impaired students would be admitted in each of these courses during the academic year 2007-08.

Eye camp

Around 100 persons were screened at a free eye camp hosted by Hindu Mission Hospital at Indra Nagar in Perumbakkam on Wednesday.

Telephone number changes

Around 400 numbers starting from 27445 and 27446 working in Thirupporur exchange will be changed over to 27434 and 27478 with effect from Thursday at 3 p.m. to provide enhanced service to customers. Customers are requested to re-activate their phone plus services, and those with STD/ISD services are requested to re-register their secret code, as the facility will be in a closed condition.
