A talented display by homemakers

Pooja Chandani, Tamil Selvi and Kumuda emerge winners

Chennai:
"Na Bole Na Bole Na Bole Re," this was the music 13 women finalists danced to at the final event of the `Meera' Mrs. Homemaker contest.
It was the Feet Trance round, judged by Uma Padmanabhan and Prem, television personalities, Lekha Chandrashekar and Nallammai Ramanathan. Organised by Twilite Corpos on Friday, the finals saw candidates shortlisted from 95 homemakers, after selection from the preliminary rounds held earlier, participating.
Audience approval
In the talent sprout round, individual participants, such as Gomathi, sang the fast paced "Appadi Podu" music number in a K.B. Sundarambal-style raga `alapana', winning instant applause from the audience. Kumuda presented a Yogic dance.
The final round was a question-answer round wherein winner Pooja Chandani was asked about the mark of a liberated woman.
Winning answer
Her reply women should be free enough to take care of their family, yet follow their unique pursuit in life, transcending the role of a homemaker. The winner got a crown and gift vouchers from the event sponsors.
The first runner-up was Tamil Selvi and the second runner-up was Kumuda. Actors Radha Ravi and Sowcar Janaki were among the guests.
