Youth questioned

CHENNAI: The city police questioned a youth from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, as he wanted to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.

Inquiries revealed that the person, who was identified as Sivaji Rao (28), had come to meet the PM and submit a petition seeking employment.

He came to know about the PM's presence in the city after reading morning newspapers. After an enquiry, he was let off, the police added.

Demonstration

About 50 autorickshaw drivers affiliated to the All India Trade Union Congress staged a demonstration near Valluvarkottam to protest for showing autorickshaw drivers in a bad taste in a documentary film to be screened on the occasion of the 150th year celebrations of the Chennai The agitators shouted slogans and dispersed, the police added.
