Six policemen dismissed

Special Correspondent

LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Government on Wednesday dismissed six policemen and placed under suspension three others, including the then SSP of Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Piyush Mordia.

The move follows the findings of the two-member committee probing the Noida killings. The panel, comprising Home Secretary Arun Kumar Sinha and Additional Director-General (Law and Order) A.C. Sharma, was constituted last week. It submitted its report to Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday.

At a press conference, Chief Secretary Naveen Chandra Bajpai said Mr. Yadav ordered the action based on the panel's findings.

Mr. Bajpai said the policemen were found prima facie guilty of negligence of duty.
