Suspend strike, says KGOA

Special Correspondent

Come forward to discuss: KGOA

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Gazetted Officers Association (KGOA) has asked the medical college teachers to suspend their strike and come forward to hold discussions. KGOA general secretary K. Sivakumar said in a statement here on Wednesday that there was widespread criticism that the formalities were not observed while arresting the doctor of Kottayam Medical College on a complaint that he accepted bribe for treating an accident victim who later died.

The authorities should look into the matter and take necessary action.

He said poor patients were not getting emergency treatment due to the lack of equipment. He urged the doctors to withdraw from the strike in the interests of the people.
