Infant abandoned

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: A 15-day-old baby boy was found abandoned in the Senior Citizens' Park in J.P. Nagar.

Fr. George of Bosco told The Hindu here on Wednesday that a senior citizen from Samarthanam Trust told the J.P. Nagar police at around 5.30 p.m. about the infant that was found abandoned in the park.

He said that the police immediately informed Bosco, whose volunteers went to the park and rescued the infant.

Deformity

He said that the infant had deformity; it did not have part of the lower limbs.

He said that Bosco had informed the Child Welfare Committee, under whose care the infant would be placed.

Fr. George said the police called the Bosco as the organisation had a good rapport with the police.
