Emergency service for pets launched

BANGALORE: In an effort to offer clinical services to suffering animals at their doorstep, animal emergency services was launched by Karuna Animal Welfare Association of Karnataka in Bangalore on Wednesday.

The telephone numbers of the round-the-clock service are: 22860205 or 23411181.

Association president B.C. Ramakrishna told presspersons that the emergency services had been launched because distressed owners of pet animals on a number of occasions were not in a position to move the animal or bring it to the nearest veterinary clinics. Besides treating pets at their doorstep, the animal emergency service would attend to other animals that were in distress, Mr. Ramakrishna said.
