Three persons found murdered

Bodies found on Wednesday morning

  • Two cousins' bodies found in the hillocks at Rajendranagar
  • Cloth shop worker stabbed to death in Tappachabutra

HYDERABAD: Three persons were murdered in different incidents in the city on Tuesday night.

Two cousins, Dastagiri and Mohammed, both in their early 20s, were murdered in the hillocks of Babulreddynagar at Rajendranagar while a cloth shop worker, Abdul Jabbar, 25, was stabbed to death at Sabernagar in Tappachabutra. All the three homicides came to light on Wednesday morning.

Residents of Tondupally in Shamshabad, the two cousins came the house of Dastagiri's sister Bibi in Shivarampally on Tuesday, ate supper and went out. That was when they were last seen. Their bodies - heads smashed with boulders - were found lying at a secluded place in Babulreddynagar the next morning.

    No struggle marks

There were no struggle marks at the scene of the offence, Rajendranagar Inspector Ch. Srinivas said.

No objects, except a pair of footwear apparently belonging to one of the killers, were found either. The two bodies were at a distance of nearly 40 yards. "We are not yet sure why the victims went there. Definitely they were not taken there forcibly since signs of resistance or struggle did not exist," the police said.

The victims' identity was established after their address was traced to Tondupally based on the tailor's mark found on their shirts. Dastagiri, a construction labourer and Mohammed, a welder, were unmarried and had no enemies, the police said. Sometimes, they used to be away from home for days together attending to their work.

    Row over mamool

The Tappachabutra police, meanwhile, suspect the role of one Karim, facing criminal charges of collecting `mamool' from roadside vendors in Mirmomin Pahadi area, in the killing of Jabbar.

They knew each other since they lived in the same area. Jabbar entered into an argument with Karim on seeing the latter allegedly collecting mamool from a local on Tuesday evening.

A clash ensued but Jabbar's elder brother Gaffar intervened and pacified them. "After the reconciliation, Jabbar and Karim left the place on a bike.

On Wednesday morning, he was found dead with multiple knife injuries at Sabernagar," Tappachabutra Inspector M.S. Venugopala Rao said.
