Held for cheating

NEW DELHI: A man who had allegedly cheated another person of thousands of rupees by posing as a Delhi Police constable and promising to sell him vehicles lying in the Mayapuri police station as scrap has been arrested by the South-West Delhi police. He had earlier been arrested in a similar case of cheating in 2005. According to the police, Ram Kumar of Burari in North Delhi, who was working as a security supervisor in a factory at Mayapuri, had lodged a complaint with the police on December 31 saying that a man posing as a constable had cheated him of more than Rs. 60,000 by promising to sell him some vehicles lying in the police station as scrap.

Following investigations, the accused, identified as Ashwani Sisodia was arrested fromAshok Vihar on Tuesday. The police recovered a police uniform, a fake ID card, Rs. 7,000, a DVD player and a TV from him.
