DHARWAD: The district administration has given compensation to the two journalists who were attacked, while they had gone to cover a meeting on the premises of an Anjuman-e-islam institution here on Bakrid. On Wednesday, Assistant Commissioner Mohan Sasanur handed over the compensation cheque to press photographer Shivaling Patil. Ganesh Kadam, president of Media Club, received the compensation cheque on behalf of Nagaraj Kiranagi, reporter of a private Kannada channel, who has sustained injuries in the attack. Jaffer Maniyar, president of Anjuman-e-islam (Dharwad), apologised for the incident.
