HUBLI: A two-hour light classical music programme has been organised by Shantala Academy of Music and Dance on January 6 as part of the release function of the Kannada audio album "Hridayantaraladali". Addressing presspersons here on Thursday Shantala Vattam, president of the academy, and Manoj Hangal, founder of Hangal Music Foundation, said that the programme would comprise renditions of Kannada lyrics, ghazals and bhajans. The audio album sung by Shantrala Vattam comprises eight poems of six Kannada poets namely H.S. Venkateshamurthy, D.S. Karki, N.S. Laxminarayana Bhatta, Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar, Ru. Moo. Shastri and Doddarangegowda. Manoj Hangal said Shantala Vattam have composed the music for the album, which has been brought out by Anand Audio and noted musician Raju Anantaswamy has composed the instrumental music. Noted film director and writer Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar would release the audio CD in a programme to be held at Sawai Gandharva Hall in Hubli. Nonagenarian vocalist Gangubai Hangal would participate in the function as chief guest, he said.
